A Letter from Jud,
Now I am not a Drill instructor, Peace Officer, or the “Gun Guy” that hangs around gun shops. I am not the country bumpkin who believes that a shotgun and 30-06 rifle is the solution to everything in life. I am not one who runs from the law. What I am is an honest man, who wants to teach you what I can offer.
I have been around all sorts of firearms my entire life. I received my first air rifle at age 5. That is where the journey began. I moved up to my first cartridge rifle at age 9; it was a Marlin “Papous”. At age 12, I received my first Ruger 10/22. While in high school, I purchased my first high power rifle. For graduation I was given my first of many pistols. It was single action .22 LR revolver. This is what started me into handguns.
In 2000 when I took my first firearms course for guard work, I thought to myself, "Can I go now?" I remember sitting there thinking "How can this be something someone has to be taught?" So at this point, I began the process of obtaining my NRA instructors certification. Due to full-time employment, this took me eight long years. But my primary instructor, a 20+ year veteran NJ highway patrol officer, made sure I finally obtained my certification. After being his assistant instructor for those eight years, and after his death in 2008, I was offered his position to take over the instruction of armed guards. So now for three years I have been training armed guards along with private individuals.
I like to have
smaller classes for two reasons. The
first reason is they are easier to manage. The
second is I want you to get all the personal instruction possible. I also do everything I can to keep my costs
down so I can make these courses affordable to everyone who wishes to
learn! I remember seeing courses being
on the inexpensive end costing over $200!
Now could I charge those kind of prices, and justify them? Yes, but I won’t. When I give you a price, that is the price I
am going to charge you. Never am I going
to add extra fees, or “administrative fees”
If this sounds good to you, please feel free to contact me.
